Sustainability is an important theme for LVNL. As an air traffic control organisation, we contribute to limiting the impact of air traffic through innovation, nuisance reduction and making our operations and business practices more sustainable.
The joint goal of the entire aviation sector is to achieve CO₂-neutral aviation by 2070 as part of the Sustainable Aviation Agreement. As an air traffic control organisation, we are one of the parties that can influence the extent to which air traffic can be handled more sustainably. In addition, we are committed to making our business processes more sustainable. This sustainability, within both the ATM (air traffic management) system and our business operations, is embedded in the Sustainability Programme and is divided into the categories below. LVNL is level 3 accredited within CANSO's Green ATM programme. This is an independent accreditation for air traffic control organisations that assesses environmental performance within operations and business processes.
