Test flights

WHEN ARE TEST FLIGHTS ALLOWED?

Test flights to and from Schiphol are permitted from Monday to Friday, daily between 0600 and 2100 UTC summer time (between 0500 and 2000 UTC winter time), except on public holidays.

Excluded from these times are:

  • flight tests to assess whether the airworthiness of an aircraft has been restored after maintenance work;
  • test flights to and from Schiphol that perform a test outside the Schiphol CTR.

In all cases, permission from the Operational Helpdesk is required. To do this, follow the application procedure.

REQUEST TEST FLIGHT

  1. Request permission from the Flow Manager Aircraft at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol on telephone number +31 (0)20 601 2115.
  2. Fill in the application form.
  3. Send the completed application form by e-mail to the Operational Helpdesk at least 24 hours before the start of the test flight.
  4. As soon as you have received provisional permission from the Operational Helpdesk, you must submit a flight plan.

File a flight plan

When you have received provisional permission of the Operational Helpdesk for your test flight, you need to file a flight plan with:

  • Item 15: outbound route to test area – STAY indicator – inbound route from test area
  • Item 18: STAYINFOn/ en RMK/COOR ATC

Use the de re-addressfunctie in IFPS to send the flight plan also to the address of the Operational Helpdesk (EHAMZXHD).

REPORT CHANGES

Report any changes to the Operational Helpdesk in good time to prevent your flight from being refused or canceled earlier than planned.
