From 20 March 2025, a transponder mandatory zone (TMZ) with frequency monitoring obligation is in force under a large part of Schiphol TMA 1.
Within this TMZ, as a pilot, you must enter transponder code 7020. You also continuously monitor Amsterdam Information frequency 124,300 MHz.
On this frequency, the FIC (Flight Information Centre) provides information about traffic in the area to enable a safe flight. In addition, the controllers of the FIC can intervene if a VFR flight enters or threatens to enter a controlled area without permission.
Direct contact between the pilot and the FIC helps prevent airspace violations so that we can make the airspace safer together.
In AIP GEN 1.5 en ENR 2.2 you will find all the details.
