Test flights

Test flights from and to EHAM are only permitted Monday to Friday, daily from 0600 to 2100 UTC summer time (0500 to 2000 UTC winter time). Test flights are not permitted on public holidays.

The following flights are excluded from the above conditions:

• Test flights to ensure that aircraft airworthiness has been restored after corrective maintenance.
• Test flights from and to EHAM that perform tests only outside the Schiphol CTR.

All test flights must be co-ordinated with the Operational Help Desk. In order to do so, follow the procedure below.  

Application

• Request permission from the Flow Manager Aircraft of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol via telephone number +31 20 601 2115.
• Fill in the test flight form.
• Send the filled-in test flight form at least 24 hours in advance via e-mail to the Operational Help Desk.

Filing your flightplan

After obtaining provisional permission from the Operational Help Desk, file your flightplan, containing:

• In item 15: outbound route to test area – STAY indicator – inbound route from test area.
• In item 18: STAYINFOn/ and RMK/COOR ATC.

Use the re-addressing function in IFPS to send a copy of the flight plan to the Operational Help Desk (EHAMZXHD).

Reporting changes

Timely inform the Operational Help Desk about all relevant changes, to prevent your flight from being refused or prematurely cancelled.
