Professional drone operators without full ROC (transition period)
You don’t have a full ROC, but you do have an approval to fly your drone commercially? Then the following rules apply:
The maximum weight of the drone is 4 kg.
Keep the drone within sight and within 100 m of the drone pilot.
The maximum height is 50 m. Within low flying areas the maximum height is 40 m.
The minimum horizontal distance from crowds, built-up areas, engineering works, motorways, highways, 80 km/hr roads,* railway tracks, vessels and vehicles is 50 m.
General rules
Only daylight operations are permitted.*
Give way to other manned aircraft.
Flying your drone within 3 km of airports without a control zone (CTR) is permitted when there is no objection of the airport operator. Please contact the operator before your mission.
Flying within low-flying areas is only permitted with an observer to monitor the airspace.
Flying in a Natura 2000 area is only permitted with a permit (provided by the provincial authority).
Filming and photography is only permitted when you have permission from the people to be filmed and photographed.
Rules for the CTR
Drone missions in the civil control zones (CTR) of Schiphol, Rotterdam, Eelde, Beek or Lelystad are not allowed without a full ROC.
Drone missions in the military CTR’s are only allowed with prior approval from the local military air traffic control unit.
