The Regeling kabelvliegers en kleine ballons (in Dutch) contains rules for kites and small captive balloons. There are specific procedures, depending on where the small captive balloons and kites are used.
1. Controlled aerodrome (red)
It is prohibited to launch a small captive balloon or kite within an area of 5000 m around the aerodrome or ATZ. Outside this area, it is permitted to launch a small captive balloon or kite to a maximum height of 100 m.
2. Uncontrolled aerodrome or aerodrome traffic zone (blue)
It is prohibited to launch a small captive balloon or kite within an area of 3000 m around the aerodrome or ATZ. Outside this area, it is permitted to launch a small captive balloon or kite to a maximum height of 100 m.
3. Low flying area (green)
It is prohibited to launch a small captive balloon or kite within a low flying area. Outside this area, it is permitted to launch a small captive balloon or kite to a maximum height of 100 m.
4. Low flying route (yellow)
It is prohibited to launch a small captive balloon or kite within an area of 5000 m around a low flying route. Outside this area, it is permitted to launch a small captive balloon or kite to a maximum height of 100 m.
