For a number of special activities in Dutch airpspace rules apply.
Are you organising an event that involves aircraft, such as an air show, a cycling race, a festival or a commemoration? Then you need to ask permission from LVNL. This procedure prevents adverse events during the flight. It also provides you with more certainty about your event.

Since 2019 many local authorities do not permit the launching of toy balloons anymore, due to the negative environmental impact. Always check the local regulations first.

Instructions Chinese lanterns
For Chinese lanterns read the instruction manual, as given by the manufacturer, and follow it carefully. So not within a radius of 15km around a (glider)airfield!
The Netherlands Fire Service also determined additional guidelines (in Dutch). One of the guidelines is that a Chinese lantern should not be used within a 15 km radius of a (glider)airfield.
Generally speaking no kites are allowed in the Dutch FIR above a height of 100 metres. A kite is also a kite when used for kite-surfing or when attached to a boat.

You must request permission from the local air traffic service to conduct some of these activities. If you plan activities for which you cannot comply with the legal requirements, you must request exemption from the section of the law concerned.
Your request will be evaluated on its social and commercial interests, and on the possible danger for aviation. If exemption is granted, additional conditions may apply.
